Pastor Rick McAlister was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and was saved in 1973 as a 20 year old college student at LSU after receiving a Gideon new testament. Feeling a call to ministry and to preach the Gospel, Rick transferred to Whitworth College in Brookhaven, MS, where he received BA in theology and a minor in Business Administration in 1975.
Married to the former Connie Loveless of Brookhaven, MS since 1975, the McAlisters have 2 children, Rickey (age 17), and Christie (age 14). Family ministry is a major part of Pastor Rick's heart. His family is involved in leading the Praise and Worship Ministry at New Vision, and His wife, Connie, serves as the Administrative Assistant, and his daughter, Christie, is the Church Secretary. Brother Rick is a preacher as well as a Pastor. His fiery and convicting sermons speak to the heart of the congregation, which continues to grow month by month. In the last 2 years over 300 new members have made New Vision Family Worship Center there church home. In January of 1995 Pastor Rick's life and ministry took a major turn when he was Baptized with the Holy Ghost while attending a Cell Church Conference at Bethany World Prayer Center in Baker, LA. Today the church and ministry lives in a pattern of growth and revival as lives continue to be transformed by the Power of God's Word. Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth." |
Sister Connie McAlister, born in Picayune, MS to Tom and Magdalene Loveless, is the middle child of 5 children. Connie and her family moved to Brookhaven, MS when she was in Junior High. Raised in a devoted Christian home, Sister Connie committed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age, and was Baptized with the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter. She was an Honor Student at Loyd Star High School, where her dad was the Agriculture and Vo-Tech teacher. After graduation, she attended Pearl River Junior College.
In 1975 Connie married Pastor Rick, and has been a faithful wife and devoted mother. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary August 1, 2000. Her heart is committed to her family and to teaching others the "How To's" of victorious family living. In March of 1998 she came on staff at New Vision full-time as the Administrative Assistant. With the ministry demands growing continually, Sister Connie fills a vital place beside her husband in the New Vision Ministry Team. Their 2 children are Honor Students at Porters Chapel Academy.
Sister Connie's gifting is in the area of teaching, personal ministry, and music. She oversees much of the administrative responsibilities in the Church Office, and is available for counseling and prayer. Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."
