Children
We believe that children are not “disciples in waiting,” just needing to be watched until they are old enough to really live for God. We believe that every child can learn about God and can live for God; they are truly “disciples in training.” Therefore, our nursery and children’s ministries are much more than mere childcare.
Our nursery is open and staffed with friendly volunteers during Sunday worship services. We invite infants and toddlers to come and play and learn. Even our youngest children are able to make friends, and they often look forward to going to church every week to see their friends and play in the nursery.
Every Sunday, just before Pastor Jason’s message, we invite our preschoolers and elementary-aged children to go to Kids’ Church, where they can hear about Jesus in terms they can understand and through activities they can appreciate. We have separate groups for preschool, lower elementary, and upper elementary.
We also offer occasional fun activities for children and families. We sponsor game nights, movie nights, Trunk or Treat, and other fun activities. Every summer we turn the entire church into a museum, jungle, western frontier, or underwater adventure world and then encourage our kids to invite their friends and join us for Vacation Bible School. In December, our Journey through Bethlehem Live Nativity includes a petting zoo, pictures with Santa, and a craft for the kids. See the calendar to find out about upcoming kids’ activities. |
