L.I.F.E. Groups

When a person experiences God’s love and the forgiveness of their sins through Jesus, they become a new person. But that is only the beginning. Jesus called his disciples to lay down their nets and follow him. In other words, Christianity is a lifelong adventure of following Jesus every day. One of our goals is to help every Christ-follower develop in their faith. We do this by providing a variety of opportunities for growth, worship, and service. Our Sunday worship services are a great place to worship and learn God’s Word. However, most Christians find that one Sunday morning each week is not enough.

We have found that a weekly gathering of eight to twelve people is a great way to supplement the spiritual growth that happens on Sundays.  We call them L.I.F.E. groups.  L.I.F.E. stands for Living In Faith Everyday.  L.I.F.E. groups meet every week, either in homes or at the church.

Current Study Topic (starts week of Aug. 21)

There's a new story unfolding. People in churches and in homes everywhere are experiencing God's Word in a whole new way. The Story draws you into the grand, unfolding story of the Bible as one sweeping narrative, arranged chronologically from Genesis to Revelation. You can experience Scripture like never before!

Pastor Jason will kick off the new study with a special message on August 21 at Sunday Worhip. The study will last from August to May. Groups meet on Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as on Sundays! For questions, please see Pastor Jason or call him at (816) 348-0303.

• In-Depth Bible Study

Each L.I.F.E. group meeting includes a time of teaching and Bible Study. Most studies use DVD’s featuring teaching by Pastor Jason or other qualified Bible teachers.

• Bible Discussion and Application

It is not enough to just listen to a Bible teacher. Most of us need to discuss what we have heard and find answers to our questions. We also need to apply the truth found in the Bible to our daily lives. Every meeting includes a discussion about how each person will live out what they have learned.

• Prayer

Every meeting includes a time of prayer. Group members talk to God about what they have learned and how they are feeling challenged to apply God’s Word. Group members also share personal prayer requests and needs.

• Fellowship & Care

In L.I.F.E. groups we learn that following Christ is never a private matter, but happens in community with other Christians. While we may know the names of the people who worship with us on Sundays, we cannot develop deep and lasting friendships with everyone. However, in the intimate setting of a L.I.F.E. group, as we share prayer requests and talk about how we can live out God’s word, we develop close friendships that will last a lifetime.

The Story

Consisting of 31 chapters of carefully-selected scriptures sequenced in chronological order, The Story presents the word of God in an engaging format, reading like a novel.
“The Bible is central to our faith,” says Pastor Jason, “but many people are intimidated by its scope and size.
The Story gives us a way to journey from Genesis to Revelation together in 31 weeks so everyone understands God’s story and how their story intersects with it.”
