Bible Reading PlansOne of the keys to growing deeper in our faith is to spend some time every day praying and reading the Bible. It is through the Scriptures that we learn about who God is, how he treats people, and how he wants us to live. We read about Christ so that we can become better Christ-followers. The Bible, however, can be intimidating. “What should I read?” “Where do I start?” Below are a few links to Bible reading plans that can guide you through God’s Word. The first thing you need is a good Bible that you can understand. Unless you love Shakespeare, you might have a difficult time reading that Bible your grandmother gave to you. Go to a Christian bookstore and pick up a copy of a “New International Version” Bible. It is still God’s Word - it just uses the language of 2009. If you can’t afford one, we will provide a Bible for free as long as you agree to read it. Next, pick a time during the day when you have about 15 minutes to read. Try to do this at the same time every day - that way you are less likely to forget. Use one of the reading plans below. Use a pencil or highlighter to underline important parts. Don’t get hung up on the confusing parts; keep reading - you can come back later. You might highlight one verse every day that especially encourages, teaches, or even convicts you. Before moving on, take a few minutes to talk to God about what you read. You may also enjoy listening to our special Bible Message Series. If you are a brand new Christ-follower, you might try a 30 day introduction to Jesus. If you are new to the Bible, you might try a 61 day introduction to the Bible, consisting of key passages in every book of the Bible. You can read the entire Bible in about 15 minutes per day. Are you ready for the ultimate adventure- the Bible reading marathon? Try reading the entire Bible in 90 days. Maybe you want to read online every day. Just bookmark this link to read Scripture on your computer. Do you need a reminder every day? Here is a website that will send you an email reminder and daily Bible reading for the plan of your choice. Here is a link to several other reading plans. |
